Andrews' $4 million roster bonus for the 2025 season triggered Sunday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
The roster bonus was due on the fifth day of the new league year, and the Ravens have made the expected move to keep him around in Baltimore for an eighth season to begin his career. The veteran tight end had a rough end to this past campaign during the team's 27-25 divisional-round loss at Buffalo, but he recorded a career-best 11 touchdowns in the 2024 regular season among his 55 receptions. Andrews, who turns 30 in September, will remain one of the key targets for QB Lamar Jackson for at least one more year.
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said Tuesday that he loves having Andrews on the team, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. "We'll figure out all the roster machinations in the coming weeks," DeCosta said. "But nobody is a bigger Mark Andrews fan than me."
Analysis
DeCosta also said Andrews eventually will be in the franchise's Ring of Honor, alongside the likes of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. The GM stopped short of promising that Andrews will be with the team in 2025 -- something that came into question after his lost fumble and dropped two-point conversion in a playoff loss to the Bills. Andrews has one year remaining on his contract, with $11 million in non-guaranteed compensation consisting of a $4 million roster bonus (due on the fifth day of the league year) and a $7 million base salary. That's a bargain for the Ravens given Andrews' track record, but there are other factors to consider, namely his reduced playing time in 2024 (61.4 percent snap share in the regular season), his age (30 in September), his playoff struggles (zero TD, 315 yards in eight games) and the presence of Isaiah Likely (42-477-6 receiving line in the 2024 regular season) on the roster. The timing of Andrews' bonus in mid-March means it probably won't be long before it becomes clear if he's staying in Baltimore.
Andrews secured five of seven targets for 61 yards and lost a fumble in the Ravens' 27-25 divisional-round loss to the Bills on Sunday. He also rushed twice for three yards.
Analysis
In a literal sense, the Ravens' latest playoff exit can essentially be pinned on Andrews, whose fumble at the Bills' 44-yard line with 8:50 remaining following a 16-yard reception helped set up a key Buffalo field goal. However, Baltimore battled back and was in position to tie the game at 27-27 following a 24-yard-touchdown reception by Isaiah Likely with 1:33 left, but Andrews dropped a catchable two-point conversion pass from Lamar Jackson to end the Ravens' hopes. The veteran tight end otherwise had a solid game in which he logged team-high figures in receptions and targets, and he also recorded a career-high 11 touchdown grabs on a 55-673 receiving line over 17 regular-season contests while playing out the penultimate campaign of a four-year, $56 million contract.
Andrews had two receptions on three targets for 27 yards while taking two carries for five yards in Saturday's wild-card round win over the Steelers.
Analysis
Andrews has recorded short rushing attempts this season as the Ravens emulate the Eagles' "tush push" as made famous by Jalen Hurts during the team's Super Bowl run in 2022. The veteran tight end saw his number called twice Saturday in order to convert two short fourth-and-short attempts. Andrews' final stat line wasn't very appealing from a fantasy perspective, despite his positive impact on the playoff game's result.
Andrews had four receptions on eight targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 35-10 win over the Browns.
Analysis
Andrews capped off a stellar second half of the fantasy season with his sixth straight game recording a touchdown. The 28-year-old set a new personal career best by catching his 11th touchdown of the regular season, finishing with a 55-673-11 line over 17 active games. Andrews and the Ravens will now turn their attention to either the Steelers or the Chargers in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
Andrews brought in both targets for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 31-2 win over the Texans on Wednesday.
Analysis
Andrews led the Ravens in receiving yards, with his 67-yard grab late in the first half representing the bulk of the damage. His yardage total tied the season high he previously set in Week 10, and his one-yard touchdown catch in the latter portion of the third quarter extended his streak with a scoring reception to five games.
Andrews caught four of six targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 34-17 win over the Steelers. He also gained one rushing yard on his only carry.
Analysis
The tight end got into the end zone for the fourth straight game on a seven-yard toss from Lamar Jackson that put the Ravens in the lead for good. Andrews has a 17-172-4 line on 20 targets over his TD streak, and he sits one score short of tying the career-high 10 touchdowns he recorded in 2019. Andrews will look for score No. 10 in Week 17 against the Texans.
Andrews brought in both targets for 24 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 35-14 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis
Andrews' 13-yard scoring grab late in the first quarter had extra significance, as it made the veteran tight end the Ravens' all-time leader in touchdown catches with 48. Andrews was quiet the remainder of the afternoon, but he's now scored in three straight games heading into a Week 16 home matchup against the Steelers on Saturday afternoon.
Andrews corralled six of seven targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis
Andrews continued his midseason surge with his seventh touchdown over his last eight appearances. Fellow tight end Isaiah Likely (5-38-1) also hit pay dirt, as the two teammates continue to establish themselves as best one-two punch at the position. Andrews will enter the upcoming bye week with 43 receptions, 490 yards and seven scores before returning to face the Giants on Dec. 15.
