Ertz recorded four receptions on eight targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis
It was a mixed day for Ertz, who saw his involvement in the offense return after he earned only one target in Week 9. He led the team in opportunities Sunday, though that translated to an uninspiring yardage total, with Ertz's longest gain going for only nine yards. Ertz should continue to play a role in the offense, but the explosive elements will be left primarily to Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown.
Ertz caught his only target for five yards in a 27-22 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Analysis
Ertz finished the game with season-low 47.0 percent snap share, mostly because he took just two of 19 snaps in the fourth quarter while the Commanders leaned heavily on their running game. He previously had at least three targets in every game this year, including five or more targets each of the past four weeks. There's a good chance Ertz's volume rebounds Week 10 against a tough Pittsburgh defense.
Ertz recorded seven receptions on 11 targets for 77 yards in Sunday's 18-15 win over the Bears.
Analysis
Ertz had his most productive day of the season by any measure, as he was the favorite target of Jayden Daniels. His statistical output was still modest, though five of his seven receptions went for double-digit yardage. This performance will likely be an anomaly, but Ertz does have at least five targets in four straight contests.
Ertz recorded four receptions on five targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-7 win over the Panthers.
Analysis
Ertz finished third on the team in targets and served as a reliable short-area target for Marcus Mariota. His longest catch of the game went for 15 yards early in the third quarter, though his biggest moment came on a 12-yard touchdown catch just before halftime to set off the blowout victory. Ertz isn't likely to post spectacular stat lines moving forward, but he does have at least four targets in all but one game this season.
Ertz caught four of five targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Ravens.
Analysis
The veteran tight end led the Commanders in receiving yards on the day while setting a new season high in the category. Ertz has caught multiple passes in six straight games to begin his Washington tenure, but he has yet to find the end zone and has topped 38 yards only twice, giving him a limited ceiling. Ertz will again provide rookie QB Jayden Daniels with a reliable possession option in Week 7 against the Panthers.
Ertz caught two of eight targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 34-13 win over the Browns.
Analysis
Despite handling a season-low 57 percent offensive snap share Week 5, Ertz led all Washington tight ends in playing time while also recording a season-high target total. The veteran wasn't able to take advantage of his increased opportunities Sunday, as he was able to reel in just two passes in the contest, his lowest reception total in a game this season. Even with the Commanders leading the NFL in scoring (31.0 points per game) through five weeks, Ertz remains a low-ceiling fantasy option in an offense that has skewed run-heavy.
Ertz hauled in all three of his targets for 22 receiving yards in Sunday's 42-14 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis
Ertz was one of nine Commanders pass catchers to record a reception in the blowout win with quarterback Jayden Daniels spreading the ball around liberally. Though he's held steady at snap shares ranging between 65 and 70 percent through each of the Commanders' first four contests, Ertz has yet to score a touchdown and hasn't drawn more than five targets on any occasion. He was withheld from the Commanders' first Week 5 practice Wednesday due to rest purposes, but he should be ready to go for this Sunday's game against the Browns.
Ertz secured all five targets for 38 yards in the Commanders' 38-33 win over the Bengals on Monday night. He also committed a fumble recovered by Washington.
Analysis
Ertz recorded a team-high number of receptions but was utilized primarily as a short-area target. The veteran tight end, who's posted a 12-128-0 line on 13 targets through three games, will next take aim at his old Cardinals teammates in a Week 4 road battle in the desert.
Ertz caught all four of his targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Giants.
Analysis
The veteran tight end led the Commanders in receiving yards as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels often had to get rid of the ball quickly on an afternoon that saw him get sacked five times. Ertz's role as one of Daniels' primary safety valves should give him a solid target floor, but at 33 years old, he may not be able to do significant damage with those looks. Ertz will try to put together another productive effort in Week 3 against the Bengals.
