Fant (groin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis
This marks Fant's first notable on-field work since Oct. 30 as he recovers from a groin injury that has sidelined him for Seattle's last two games. He may have to log a full practice Friday in order to emerge from Week 12 prep without a designation. In any case, if Fant is inhibited or sidelined Sunday against the Cardinals AJ Barner would be the biggest beneficiary among Seahawks tight ends.

Fant (groin) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Fant hasn't practiced since Oct. 30 due to a groin injury, resulting in a pair of absences (Weeks 9 and 11) sandwiched around a Week 10 bye. Reserve tight end Brady Russell (foot) also was held out of practice Wednesday, which leaves AJ Barner and Pharaoh Brown (elbow) as the healthy options at the position on the Seahawks' active roster at the moment. Fant will have two more sessions this week to put himself on a path to return to action Sunday against the Cardinals, but until he steps back on the practice field, his odds to suit up will be slim.

Fant (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Fant missed Seattle's final game before a Week 10 bye and now will sit out at least one more contest after failing to practice this week. With fourth-string tight end Brady Russell (foot) also ruled out, the Seahawks will rely on AJ Barner and Pharaoh Brown, likely giving the former most of the snaps and routes. Barner played 91 percent of snaps in a 26-20 loss to the Rams in Week 9, catching four of seven targets for 27 yards in his first career game with more than three targets or 48 percent snap share.

Fant (groin) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis
Fant is expected to miss time on either side of the Seahawks' Week 10 bye due to a groin injury, and the team can confirm has lack of availability for Sunday's game at San Francisco as soon as it posts its final Week 11 practice report Friday. Assuming that comes to pass, AJ Barner will be the primary beneficiary at tight end for Seattle.

Fant (groin) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis
When Fant was ruled out ahead of the Seahawks' Week 9 overtime loss to the Rams, head coach Mike Macdonald relayed that it was "going to be some time" regarding the tight end's recovery from a groin injury, according to Colin Gunther of the Seahawks' official site. Fant's lack of activity coming out of the team's Week 10 bye is worrisome for his availability for Sunday's game at San Francisco. Another absence from Fant would allow AJ Barner to continue to feature as Seattle's primary tight end.

Fant (groin) won't play Sunday against the Rams, and per coach Mike Macdonald, the tight end's status after a Week 10 bye isn't certain, Colin Gunther of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis
In particular, Macdonald said Friday, "It's going to be some time. We don't anticipate him being on IR, but we are unsure of his availability after the bye right now." After injuring his groin at Wednesday's practice, Fant was a non-participant both Thursday and Friday before the Seahawks ruled him out for Week 9 action. In Fant's stead, the trio of AJ Barner, Pharaoh Brown and Brady Russell will man TE for the Seahawks.

Fant (groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Analysis
Fant will miss a game for the first time this season right ahead of Seattle's Week 10 bye. His absence leaves more playing time for fellow tight ends AJ Barner, Pharaoh Brown and Brady Russell, with Barner being most likely of the bunch to have significant involvement in the passing game.

Fant (groin) didn't practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis
Considering Fant was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report, he may have suffered the groin injury in the session that preceded its posting. In any case, his status will be one to monitor Friday to see if he enters the weekend with a designation ahead of Sunday's game versus the Rams. AJ Barner, Pharaoh Brown and Brady Russell would stand to benefit this weekend if Fant is inhibited or sidelined.

Fant practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday due to a groin injury, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Analysis
Through eight games this season, Fant has surpassed a 50 percent snap share on seven occasions, resulting in a cumulative 27-285-0 receiving line on 32 targets. With receiver DK Metcalf (knee) sitting out Wednesday and wideout Tyler Lockett (oblique) being a limited participant due to a new health concern, three of the Seahawks' top pass catchers are banged up at the moment. Thursday's and Friday's sessions thus will be key to how the team's receiving corps will break down Sunday versus the Rams.
