Jones (quadricep) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis
His ability to practice in any fashion to begin Week 18 prep essentially confirms that the quad injury he suffered during Sunday's 27-25 win over Green Bay is minor. Jones missed the entire fourth quarter, leaving Cam Akers and Ty Chandler to split backfield work in what ended up being a close game after the Packers scored 15 unanswered points late in the contest. With Sunday's game against Detroit determining the No. 2 seed in the NFC, it's safe to assume Jones will give it a go if at all possible.

Jones (quad) does not seem to be dealing with a major injury and has a realistic chance of playing Week 18 against Detroit, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis
The Vikings pulled the running back from a Week 17 win out of caution after going up 27-10 near the end of the third quarter, although the decision nearly backfired when the Packers scored the next 15 points. It would stand to reason that Jones will suit up Sunday if he's at all able to, as the Vikings have a lot to play for. If they beat the Lions in the season finale, they'll secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC and get a first-round bye, while a loss would push them all the day down to the No. 5 seed.

Jones (quadriceps) recorded 12 rushes for 47 yards in Sunday's 27-25 win over the Packers. He added four receptions on five targets for an additional 30 yards.
Analysis
Despite playing with a lead for the entire game, the Vikings remained aggressive on offense by taking to the air 43 times. That was enough to mute Jones' volume to some degree, an issue compounded by the fact that he didn't play at all in the fourth quarter due to a quad injury he suffered earlier in the game, per Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com. Jones' status will be important to monitor ahead of a Week 18 showdown with the Lions that will decide the NFC North as well as the top seed in the NFC.

Jones took 18 carries for 67 yards while catching three of five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis
Jones had to work for his 93 combined yards from scrimmage Sunday, handling 23 total touches en route to modest fantasy numbers. The steady veteran failed to extend his scoring streak to five games, which is the only blemish on an otherwise quality outing. The 29-year-old is now up to 1,046 rushing yards through 15 starts as a Viking, giving him his fourth 1,000-yard season as a pro. Jones will get an opportunity to have a revenge game against the club that let him walk in free agency this past offseason, the Green Bay Packers, next Sunday.
Jones rushed 18 times for 86 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of three targets for 20 yards in the Vikings' 30-12 win over the Bears on Monday night.
Analysis
Jones fell short of his third 100-yard effort of 2024 and reaching the 1,000-yard mark on the season, but the veteran back still turned in a solid performance that included his fifth rushing touchdown of the campaign on a one-yard run late in the third quarter. The 30-year-old also extended his streak of games with multiple receptions to four, and his rushing yardage total was his second highest since Week 10. Jones appears to be refreshed down the stretch run as Minnesota continues to push for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and he'll look to capitalize on a favorable matchup against the Seahawks' run defense in a Week 16 road clash.
Jones (back) was a full practice participant Friday.
Analysis
Listed as limited for Thursday's walkthrough, Jones managed an upgrade in short order and figures to handle his usual role Monday night against a Bears defense that he ripped for 129 total yards and a touchdown three weeks ago. He's yet to miss a game this season, despite averaging 18.0 touches per contest in his age-30 campaign.
Jones was limited at Thursday's walkthrough due to a back injury.
Analysis
Jones has been listed with hip, hamstring, chest and rib issues at various points this season, but he has yet to miss a game after averaging 2.7 absences per campaign in his seven seasons with the Packers. In the end, though, his status will be monitored in the coming days to ensure he'll be available Monday against the Bears.

Jones rushed 13 times for 73 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 11 yards in the Vikings' 42-21 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis
A week after having issues with ball security, Jones turned in a clean performance that also featured his third performance of better than 70 rushing yards in the last five contests. Jones also recorded his second rushing touchdown in the last three games on a 15-yard run with 3:38 remaining to cap off the runaway win. The veteran back heads into a Week 15 home matchup against the Bears on Monday night, Dec. 16 now just 117 rushing yards away from the fourth 1,000-yard campaign of his career.
Jones carried the ball only five times for 22 yards and caught three of four targets for six yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-22 win over the Cardinals. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis
Two early fumbles, one of which Arizona recovered, parked Jones on the bench for much of the first half, and by the time he checked back into the huddle, Minnesota was staring at a big deficit. To his credit, Jones played a big role in the comeback, both with his pass protection and then by hauling in the game-winning score with just 1:13 left on the clock. Jones has put the ball on the carpet four times in the last three games though, an issue he will need to clean up if he doesn't want to lose more touches and snaps to Cam Akers and Ty Chandler in Week 14 against the Falcons.
