Hurts completed 16 of 25 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns. He added 33 rushing yards on 14 carries.
Analysis
While it wasn't the most efficient effort, Hurts clearly enjoyed having top wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back in the lineup, as the former caught a 22-yard TD pass in the second quarter and the latter was on the end of a game-sealing 45-yard score in the fourth. It's only the second time in five games this season that Hurts has thrown multiple touchdowns, but it's also only the second time both Brown and Smith have been healthy. Hurts will try to keep his momentum going in Week 7 against the Giants.
Hurts completed 18 of 30 passes for 158 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added 20 yards and another touchdown on eight carries in the Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis
Playing without top wideouts A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion), Hurts predictably struggled to run any type of cohesive attack and took six sacks. Additionally, the fact Tampa Bay was able to jump out to a 24-7 lead over the first two quarters certainly didn't help matters, as it made Philadelphia's plan of attack all the more predictable. Some chunk gains in the second half and Hurts' own one-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter helped salvage his fantasy day, but there's no question his upside is significantly capped with out his top two pass catchers. There should be a very good chance Hurts will have at least one of Brown or Smith when the Browns come calling for a Week 6 home matchup on Sunday, Oct. 13 following a Week 5 bye.
Hurts completed 29 of 38 passes for 311 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and added eight carries for 25 yards in the Eagles' 21-15 win over the Saints on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis
Hurts' final numbers are made all the more remarkable by the fact he was working with a skeleton crew at receiver by the fourth quarter of the close victory. He started the day without A.J. Brown (hamstring) and then lost DeVonta Smith to a head injury in the second half, but he still managed to lead a five-play, 69-yard game-winning march in which he recorded a 61-yard completion to Dallas Goedert that set up Saquon Barkley's go-ahead, four-yard touchdown run. Hurts' passing yardage total ironically was his highest through three games, but despite the Eagles' ability to escape with a victory, he and his teammates will be in dire straits offensively heading into a Week 4 road matchup against the Buccaneers if neither Brown nor Smith are available.
Hurts completed 23 of 30 pass attempts for 183 yards, one touchdown and one interception while adding 85 rushing yards and another score off of 13 carries in Monday's 22-21 loss to Atlanta.
Analysis
Hurts turned in a fine fantasy performance despite taking his first loss of the season. The 25-year-old buoyed his numbers with a rushing performance that most fantasy managers would be content with from their starting running backs. The Eagles' offensive line continues to provide mixed results following the retirement of stalwart center Jason Kelce. Hurts' ability as a runner may show up more often this season if he has less time in the pocket. Philadelphia now will head to New Orleans for a Week 3 matchup against the Saints on Sunday.
Hurts completed 20 of 34 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing 13 times for 33 yards with a lost fumble in Friday's win over the Packers in Brazil.
Analysis
It was a sloppy start for Hurts on a slick playing field overseas after committing two of his three turnovers on Philadelphia's first two drives. The 25-year-old settled in following the pick and ensuing lost fumble, rattling off four straight scoring drives for the split crowd in Sau Paolo, Brazil. Hurts did not see any action this preseason, so a sloppy game in a foreign land can be looked past for one of the top QBs in fantasy, especially after he willed his team to a narrow victory to start the regular season. The Eagles will return home to face the Falcons on Monday, Sept. 16.
Hurts isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis
Hurts and none of the Eagles' other offensive starters are expected to play versus New England. In that scenario, Hurts' final opportunity to see exhibition action will come Aug. 24 against the Vikings.
Hurts didn't end up seeing any action in Friday's preseason win over the Ravens.
Analysis
Reporting earlier in the day suggested that the Eagles would give their offensive starters, including Hurts, one series in the team's preseason opener, but that proved not to be the case as Kenny Pickett got the start under center and played into the second half. Hurts' next opportunity to see exhibition action will come Thursday against the Patriots.
Hurts and other starters are expected to play one drive in Friday's preseason game against Baltimore, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis
McLane notes that Philadelphia's starters could end up playing a bit more, depending on how the first series goes. That probably means Hurts will get one drive if he's able to move the ball, or two drives if the opening series quickly stalls out. Either way, he's unlikely to play more than 10-15 snaps, if that.
Hurts said the offense he's learning under new coordinator Kellen Moore is "probably 95 percent" new, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Hurts will work with his fifth playcaller in as many pro seasons, having gone from Doug Pederson to Nick Sirianni to Shane Steichen to Brian Johnson to Moore. It sounds like this will be the biggest change to the Eagles' offense since 2021, when Sirianni replaced Pederson as the head coach and the team drafted WR DeVonta Smith in the first round. The unit will have two new starters this season, with RB Saquon Barkley signed to replace D'Andre Swift (Bears) and the right guard job up for grabs with Cam Jurgens shifting over to center to replace a retired Jason Kelce. The new offense figures to entail a lot more pre-snap motion, something the Eagles used on a league-low 10.9 percent of plays last season (the Chargers ranked eighth under Moore at 25.9 percent).
