The Giants were the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs this season. For this mock draft, I used NFLMockDraftDatabase.com’s mock draft simulator, the consensus big board, and SumerSports advanced computer vision metrics. As with every mock, don’t forget that teams can and will sign free agents. Also, I drafted based on how the mock draft simulator presented available players with no trades. Player consensus is sure to change over time, and that may impact where players fall as we get closer to late April.
Round 1: Travis Hunter, CB/WR – Colorado
Miami QB Cam Ward is still on the board here, but a player like Travis Hunter is just too good to pass up. Hunter ranked in the 94th percentile in AI coverage grade and in the 100% percentile in our route running metric. The Giants are in desperate need of a true lock-down cornerback after former first round pick Deonte Banks was benched earlier this year. Banks currently ranks in the 24th percentile in our AI coverage grade. In a draft where the quarterback position is considered weak by the consensus, the Giants decide to pass the buck to the 2026 draft (Arch Manning??) and take the best player in this draft.
Round 2: Tyler Booker, G – Alabama
This came down to Ohio State’s Josh Simmons and Alabama’s Tyler Booker. Both players rank in the 96th percentile or better in AI Pass Blocking Grade. The only difference between the two are injury history and positions played. Simmons is an offensive tackle, playing both left and right tackle during his time at Ohio State. Booker is a guard, playing primarily on the left side during his time at Alabama. This pick might change once we get through the Combine and see how Josh Simmons performs on his medical evaluations. Simmons’ season came to an end during Ohio State’s game with Oregon in Week 7 after a knee injury.
Round 3: Drew Allar, QB – Penn State
Tracking Drew Allar’s draft stock will be fascinating in the lead up to April. There is a chance is he not available at this pick in mock drafts through the end of the College Football Playoff.
There currently isn’t a quarterback on the Giants roster going into the 2025 season, and while I do expect the Giants to bring in a veteran quarterback and/or bring back New Jersey native Tommy DeVito, I don’t believe their franchise answer at quarterback is going to be on the roster by draft day. While we are kicking the quarterback problem down the road to 2026 in this mock, taking a shot on Penn State’s Drew Allar in the 3rd round is a low risk, high reward possibility. He ranks in the 91st percentile or better in both our AI Grade and Accuracy metric.
Round 4: Barrett Carter, LB – Clemson & Charles Grant, OL – William & Mary
The Giants don’t have an immediate need at linebacker with Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden on the roster for next season. Reaching when you get this deep into the draft is not an advisable move, and with Isaiah Simmons and Matthew Adams hitting free agency, the Giants could use some depth at the position. Carter ranks in the 81st percentile in AI Run Defense grade.
Charles Grant has been a productive part of the William & Mary offense for the past three seasons. The All-American FCS offensive lineman has been the starting left tackle for the Tribe. Taking a shot on a productive offensive lineman, even one who played at a lower level, is worth a shot this late in the draft.
Round 5: Ajani Cornelius, OT – Oregon
Andrew Thomas has been an outstanding offensive lineman for the Giants during his five seasons in East Rutherford. Unfortunately, he has been injured the past two seasons, only playing in 16 games of a possible 34. Former first round pick Evan Neal has been doing better since coming back into the starting lineup and Jermaine Eluemunor has been productive this season. But the Giants need to add more depth at tackle, and possibly a future starting right tackle in the not-so-distant future. Ajani Cornelius ranks in the 89th percentile in our AI Pass Blocking Grade.
Round 7: Joshua Farmer, DL – Florida State, Pat Bryant, WR – Illinois & John Michael Gyllenborg, TE – Wyoming
The Giants don’t have a sixth-round pick in the 2025 draft. They traded it away to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for Carlos Basham Jr. and a 7th round pick. The Giants are thin at defensive line with star Dexter Lawrence’s season-ending elbow injury. Joshua Farmer ranks in the 80th percentile or better in both AI Pass Rush Grade and our Pass Rush Finish metric.
Darius Slayton is a free agent this offseason and the Giants could use weapons in the passing game. They are currently 31st in passing yards per game. The 6’3 Pat Bryant ranks in the 95th percentile in both our AI Receiving Grade and Yards After Catch metric.
Brian Daboll has been a fan of running plays out of 12 and 13 personnel this season. With TE Chris Manhertz hitting free agency, adding another weapon at TE this late in the draft would make sense. John Michael Gyllenborg ranks in the 97th percentile or better in our AI Receiving Grade, Route Running Metric, and Estimated 40 Time Metric.
