Gibbs rushed 11 times for 69 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for a 54-yard catch in the Lions' 52-6 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
Analysis
Gibbs logged four fewer carries than backfield mate David Montgomery but gained just six less yards, and he finished third on the Lions in receiving yards thanks to a career-long 54-yard reception. Gibbs also recorded his fifth rushing touchdown in the last five games on a one-yard run early in the second quarter, making it yet another rewarding fantasy afternoon for the explosive second-year back. Gibbs next takes aim at a vulnerable Colts defense in a Week 12 road matchup next Sunday.
Gibbs rushed 19 times for 71 yards while catching two of three targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 26-23 win over the Texans.
Analysis
Gibbs was the only position player for either side to crack 100 total yards from scrimmage in an odd game that featured seven combined interceptions. Co-starter David Montgomery struggled on the ground (12-32-1) but was also the beneficiary of Detroit's lone rushing touchdown on the night. Both tailbacks should be considered universal starts in all fantasy formats heading into a soft matchup against the Jaguars next Sunday.
Gibbs rushed the ball 11 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-14 win over the Packers. He added one reception on two targets for 11 yards.
Analysis
David Montgomery was the favored option in the Detroit backfield in rainy conditions and a positive game script. However, Gibbs had the better fantasy performance thanks to his performance on the team's first possession of the second half, when he tallied an 18-yard rush before finding the end zone from 15 yards away. Gibbs now has eight total touchdowns and has scored in three consecutive games.
Gibbs rushed the ball 11 times for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 52-14 win over the Titans. He added one reception on one target for six yards.
Analysis
The Lions had limited volume offensively as their defense and special teams set them up with short fields throughout the day. That led to muted efforts from most of the team's skill-position players, though Gibbs managed to break free for a 70-yard touchdown run late in the first quarter when he burst through the line and raced down the sideline while barely being touched. He has now topped 100 rushing yards in consecutive games and has accumulated over 100 total yards in four of seven contests.
Gibbs rushed 15 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns and brought in all four targets for 44 yards in the Lions' 31-29 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis
Gibbs led the Lions' ground game across the board and also finished as the second-leading pass catcher in both receptions and receiving yards. The versatile second-year pro recorded his second multi-touchdown effort in three games as well with 45- and eight-yard scoring runs in the second quarter, and his rushing yardage total was a new season high. Gibbs' workload was aided by the fact backfield mate David Montgomery missed some time in the first half due to a knee injury, but the Alabama product's numbers stand out under any circumstance. Gibbs next takes aim at the Titans defense in a Week 8 home matchup.
Gibbs rushed the ball 12 times for 63 yards in Sunday's 47-9 win over the Cowboys. He added three receptions on five targets for 28 yards.
Analysis
Gibbs worked evenly with David Montgomery on the ground and was much better as a pass catcher, though Montgomery's fantasy performance was superior thanks to a pair of scores. Even so, Gibbs turned in a fine performance that was highlighted by a 20-yard reception and five rush attempts that went for at least five yards. He now has a minium of 78 total yards from scrimmage in all five games this season, though he has ceded a lot of work at the goal line to Montgomery.
Gibbs rushed 14 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns and wasn't targeted in the Lions' 42-29 win over the Seahawks on Monday night.
Analysis
Although the lack of work in the passing game was less than ideal, Gibbs' fantasy managers had to be elated with seeing the talented back get two opportunities from inside the five-yard line that culminated in touchdowns, considering how often he's frequently passed over for David Montgomery in such scenarios. Gibbs went in from three yards and one yard out in the second quarter, his first trips to the end zone on the ground since Week 1. He's yet to crack the 100-yard threshold this season, but he's now on an impressive three-game run of efficient work on the ground that's seen him amass 245 yards on 43 carries. Gibbs now gets a chance for some early season rest via a Week 5 bye before returning to action on the road Sunday, Oct. 13 against a short-handed Cowboys defense that's struggled to stop the run.
Gibbs rushed 16 times for 83 yards and added a 20-yard receiving touchdown in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Cardinals.
Analysis
Gibbs motored into the end zone from 20 yards out after taking a lateral from Amon-Ra St. Brown to give Detroit a 20-7 lead late in the first half. That yardage counted toward Gibbs' receiving total, but he wasn't credited with a target or catch on the play and didn't see a target for the rest of the game, leading to an unconventional stat line with a receiving touchdown but no targets. Gibbs has surpassed 100 scrimmage yards in consecutive games heading into a Week 4 MNF home game against the Seahawks.
Gibbs rushed 13 times for 84 yards and caught all seven of his targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis
Gibbs kept Detroit's hopes alive with a 23-yard run to convert on 4th-and-1 with 1:23 remaining, but he was tackled short of the line to gain on a fourth-down catch 30 seconds later. Gibbs out-gained David Montgomery by 49 yards on the ground and also got seven of the 12 targets among Lions running backs (four for Montgomery, one for Sione Vaki), but Montgomery got the opportunity to punch in a one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and capitalized on it. Despite being Detroit's 1B option by the goal line, Gibbs should remain heavily involved Week 3 against the Cardinals thanks to his versatility and explosiveness.
