Phase one of SūmerBrain open beta showed what happens when anyone can explore real football data with speed and context. Over 60,000 questions helped shape what the Brain has become. Now we’re taking the next step.
Fantasy is live in SūmerBrain. It references consensus fantasy projections and compliments it with real football data, such as usage trends and efficiency. The result is context that fits your team, not just what everyone else sees.
What’s New
Fantasy integration adds four main features:
- League Sync: Connect your Sleeper and Yahoo leagues for personalized answers.
- Start/Sit Lineup Advice: Ask who to start, who to bench, or what your optimal lineup looks like.
- Waiver Recommendations: Find the best waiver wire pickups and evaluate potential add/drop decisions.
- Trade Analysis: Evaluate trade offers to determine fairness, balance, and overall team impact.
It’s the same Brain underneath. You can still explore data, study players, or ask about football concepts. Now it just understands your fantasy team as well.
Improvements Since Phase One
Before launching the fantasy update, we made improvements to how SūmerBrain processes core football data. These updates came directly from the most common feedback we received during the first phase of open beta.
Here’s what changed:
- Player EPA for Rushing, Receiving and Passing Positions
- Success Rate
- Blitz Rate Logic
These refinements make the Brain’s football understanding sharper and ensure fantasy insights are built on cleaner, more consistent data.
How Fantasy in SūmerBrain Works
When you sync your league, SūmerBrain pulls scoring settings, roster information, matchup details and more to get a personalized view of your league. It considers consensus fantasy projections from our third-party provider and complements it with football data that we released in the first phase of open beta.
Each answer will offer personalized advice based on fantasy projections to show what might happen, and then you can explore further to understand the why by asking specific questions that use our football data.
Known Limitations
We’re still in open beta. Here are a few things to know:
- Supported Platforms: League sync works with Sleeper and Yahoo only.
- Sync Frequency: Leagues update automatically every 4 hours. If you make changes, you can manually re-sync to see updates sooner.
- Projection Source: We use a third-party source that uses consensus projection data. The projections you see in your fantasy platform may differ.
- League Types: This phase focuses on in-season tools for redraft leagues. Other formats such as Keeper, Dynasty, Best Ball, Daily Fantasy, and betting will come at a later date.
- Trade Discovery: For this phase of Open Beta, SūmerBrain cannot recommend specific trades or identify trade partners, but it can analyze any trades you’re already considering.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of It
- Sync your Yahoo and Sleeper leagues.
- By syncing your leagues, SūmerBrain will know your league settings, who’s on your team, and more. Personalization will be at its best with league sync.
- Prompts to try with league sync:
- For Start / Sit: “What is my optimal lineup this week?”
- For Waiver: “Anyone on waivers I should claim?”
- For Trade: “Should I trade Brock Bowers for Tyrone Tracy and Hunter Henry?”
- If you play on a fantasy platform that is not league sync supported, set up your manual league settings in your profile.
- Even though SūmerBrain won’t be able to offer personalized advice, you can set up your scoring, league size and roster position settings so that you don’t need to constantly give this context when asking questions.
- Be specific (especially for non-league sync users).
- Clear questions lead to better answers. For example:
- Bad: “Most rush attempts drop Pacheco Spears Smith?”
- Good: “Who has seen the biggest decrease in rushes week to week across Isiah Pacheco, Tyjae Spears and Brashard Smith?”
- Mix football and fantasy.
- Try questions like:
- “Who should I start between Jordan Mason and Tony Pollard?”
- “Which RB's have seen the biggest increase in red-zone usage over the past two weeks?”
- “Who performs best against zone coverage among my bench WRs?”
- Look for the why.
- The best part isn’t just the answer, it’s the reasoning behind it. Use SūmerBrain to understand the trends that shape your lineup decisions.
- After asking for your optimal lineup, try following up with prompts like:
- “Compare [Player A] and [Player B] usage in the red zone throughout the season”
- “Compare [Player A] and [Player B] target share throughout the season”
- Re-sync after changes.
- SūmerBrain refreshes your league data every 4 hours. If you make a move and want to ask questions based on your move, hit the manual resync to refresh your data.
Why It Matters
Most fantasy tools stop at projections and basic box score stats. SūmerBrain adds football context to those numbers. It helps you understand not just what to do, but why it makes sense. That’s how you make better decisions and find small advantages over time.
We’re Still in Beta
This is phase two of our open beta. We’re continuing to test and learn from every user question. Connect your league, start asking, and help us make it better.
